Slim Rhodes was signed to Sun Records in Memphis from 1955–58, recording a mix of country and rockabilly. Rhodes acquired an Elvis Presley sound-alike vocalist, Sandy Brooks; releasing the rockabilly "Do What I Do" and "Take and Give".[5] Between 1955–57, Rhodes was a frequent part of Sun tours through the southern U.S.
